Meet Cindy Carlton

Cindy is a Licensed Massage Therapist and an Intuitive Healing Facilitator, holding safe and sacred space for her clients with lightness and joy, so they feel grounded, energetic, and strong. She believes she serves only as an aid to her clients in their search for healing and health. With focused touch and energy, a person’s body will begin the process of its own healing. With intuitive bodywork, that includes CranioSacral Therapy, therapeutic massage, energy healing, intuitive reading/channeling, and other tools, she turns her intent towards letting the client’s body lead her to what it needs.

Cindy came to the field of massage therapy after working 15+ years in customer service. She has an affinity for helping others and living a healthy life. Cindy found that the power of touch is an incredible way to aid others towards better health, and decided to follow a healing path. With each of her clients, she still utilizes her customer service skills. Communication is key - truly listening to her clients as well as their bodies in order to follow the flow of what's needed in a session.

Cindy attended EastWest College of the Healing Arts in Portland, Oregon, completing the 801-hour program for massage therapy in 2009. She began her independent massage practice in Portland, OR and Vancouver, WA, while also working at Shephard Clinic of Chiropractic Arts. She has helped patients and clients who have suffered injuries or who are seeking proactive healing. Cindy specializes in CranioSacral Therapy and has completed Upledger Institute’s CranioSacral Therapy I and II, Somatic Emotional Release I and II, CranioSacral Applications for Conception, Pregnancy and Birthing I, and CranioSacral Therapy for Pediatrics I. She also applies her knowledge and skills of Swedish/relaxation massage, Deep Tissue massage, Myofacial Release and Thai massage to her sessions.

Throughout Cindy’s healing practice, clients have always asked her what kind of energy work she is doing. It wasn’t until 2016, when she started learning energy tools from Joanna and Eric at Rainbow Hug, that Cindy was able to name what she was feeling during sessions. Mindfully and intuitively using these tools in conjunction with CranioSacral Therapy and therapeutic massage took Cindy’s sessions from being “just a massage” to something deeper and more beneficial for her clients. This was the shift to being an Intuitive Healing Facilitator.

Along with energy and bodywork tools, during sessions Cindy also pulls upon her knowledge of an earth-wisdom based practice from the Origin Teachings of the Delicate Lodge. She is a sanctioned Council Guide and takes part in seasonal ceremonies that honor the natural rhythms and cycles of Life.

Cindy's other interests include dancing, bicycling, walking, running, and being a mom. She has 13 years of ballet experience as well as over 25 years of love for East Coast Swing, the Lindy Hop, and any other kind of dancing she can try. She has completed the Portland and Vancouver Marathons, the Seattle-to-Portland Bicycle Classic, and two Olympic-distance duathlons. Cindy has also served as a Lead Dancer at the Delicate Lodge's Prayer Dance in Wisconsin. And she'll gladly tell you about her two children!
